WebGreat Condurrow Mine is a combination of 19th century and 20th century underground workings along with a suite of surface buildings. Members of the Society meet at the mine every Thursday morning to carry out restoration and various project work there. You can read more about the Great Condurrow mine by clicking the link on the left. Great Condurrow (also known as Pendarves United) stopped working in July 1881. The post-war slump in 1921 saw the closure of Wheal Grenville which resulted in the flooding of King Edward Mine. Mining operations were transferred, albeit on a far smaller scale, to the adjacent Great Condurrow Mine, to the north, a small portion of which was above the natural drainage level. This underground facility is still used by the Camborne School of Mines.
